Curriculum

At All Saints CE Primary School, we use carefully selected, high-quality curriculum programmes to ensure that pupils develop strong knowledge, skills and understanding across a broad range of subjects. For Science, History and Geography, we follow the CUSP (Curriculum with Unity Schools Partnership) curriculum. This provides a carefully sequenced and ambitious curriculum where knowledge and vocabulary are explicitly taught, revisited and built upon over time. Pupils are encouraged to think critically, make meaningful connections and develop a deep understanding of the world around them through enquiry, discussion and investigation.

For Physical Education, Design and Technology and Spanish, we use the Oak National Academy curriculum, which provides a progressive, knowledge-rich approach to learning. In PE, pupils develop competence, confidence and enjoyment in a wide range of physical activities whilst learning about teamwork, resilience, fair play and healthy lifestyles. In Design and Technology, pupils develop creativity, practical skills and problem-solving abilities through designing, making and evaluating products, applying their learning to real-world contexts and challenges. In Spanish, pupils develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing, building a strong foundation in language learning and an appreciation of different cultures. The curriculum is carefully sequenced to ensure knowledge and vocabulary are revisited regularly, enabling pupils to communicate with increasing accuracy and fluency.

For Computing, we follow the Teach Computing Curriculum, supported by Project Evolve for online safety education. This ensures pupils develop a secure understanding of computer science, information technology and digital literacy. Pupils learn how digital systems work, develop programming skills and become confident, responsible users of technology. Through Project Evolve, children explore age-appropriate online safety themes, helping them to navigate the digital world safely, respectfully and responsibly.

In Art and Design, we use AccessArt, a creative and inclusive curriculum that enables pupils to explore a wide range of artistic techniques, materials and processes. Children learn about the work of diverse artists and designers whilst developing their own creativity, imagination and artistic confidence. The curriculum encourages experimentation, reflection and self-expression, helping pupils to develop both technical skills and an appreciation of art in its many forms.

Our Music curriculum follows the Leicestershire Music Primary Scheme, providing pupils with opportunities to develop their musical knowledge, skills and appreciation. Through singing, listening, composing and performing, children learn about a wide range of musical styles and traditions whilst developing confidence, creativity and self-expression. The curriculum is carefully sequenced to build musical understanding over time and enables pupils to participate in high-quality musical experiences throughout their primary education.

Across all subjects, our aim is to provide a rich, ambitious and inclusive curriculum that equips pupils with the knowledge, skills and experiences they need to flourish both academically and personally. We strive to develop curious learners, creative thinkers and responsible citizens who are well prepared for the next stage of their education and life beyond primary school.
